Over the years Montanita in Ecuador has developed from a small fishing village to a surf party town. It has become a very fun and laid back spot with a variety of local shops, bars and restaurants .The water temperature is usually in the low eighties and it’s sunny almost everyday. The surf is good year round but the best season is from December through May.At this time of year the surf gets big and glassy and Ecuador gets both north and south swells. There are not very strong currents so this is truly a surfing paradise with light crowds,warm water, no currents and great surf.
