Morro Negrito Surf

There are up to ten breaks within a short distance of the camp. Some of them break best on high tide and some on low tide. The most important thing is that there is  for sure one wave to suit your style, you just have to discover it!  Here is a description of each wave, though more discoveries are being made all the time.

Left point break in front of camp, it is often described as playful and it is good to surf at medium tides.

The point , left point break about 1/2 mile from camp. It is fast, hollow and easy to get barreled on, on a big swell it has been compared to a Pipeline type wave. Best surfed at medium tides.

Sand bar break, found in the south of the island with 400 yard ride on the sand bar. This wave breaks both left and right, it is not fast but long and playful. Surfed at low tide only.

Bouncing wave, on the big island and goes left. Swell bounces off a large volcanic rock formation and then connects with the next incoming wave to double up. Surfed at medium tides.

Inside small island break, it goes right and it is an island wrapper. Best on low tide and it needs a large swell to surf.

The other breaks are on the outside island. One big wave left break, next a smaller, but very fun left reef break, the other a right break reef and the last is an island wraper going right. Only to be surfed at medium to hide tide.

But surfing is not the only great thing about Morro Negrito. You can also go diving, fishing, exploring or just relax on a hammock. The island has a variety of wild life and the surroundings are gorgeous so even if you do not surf Morro Negrito Surf Camp is a great place to be!

I really had a great time in Morro Negrito and I learnt a lot about surfing. I'd like to make another surf trip in the future, I met really interesting people. Morro Negrito is like paradise, sometimes I couldn't even believe I was really there. The camp is comfortable and the staff excellent. Thank you so much!
